Mobile Barriers MBT-1 is featured in the 2023 Caltrans Construction Safety Awards! Congratulations to everyone involved in the "Stockton Channel Viaduct Deck Rehabilitation Project" for excellence in safety & for winning Caltrans' Platinum Award for Safety Innovation!

Project Description: "The project consisted of repairing the bridge deck and replacing failed bridge finger joints on the Stockton Channel Viaduct on Interstate 5 in Stockton. Work on this structure can be dangerous due to the number of lanes on the interstate as well as weaving movements for the connector and on and off ramps. Also, this work required workers to be on foot near the lane lines. This led to the project team piloting the use of the Mobile Barrier System as a positive work zone protection for worker safety. Highlighting the use of the Mobile Barrier System led to the developments of new specifications, plans, and guidelines. The partnership between Caltrans and the Golden State Bridge built on the safety-first culture with a small investment on Mobile Barrier System and a large impact in achieving our safety goals."
